The 1st Shanghai International Ammonia Energy Conference & Exhibition 2027

Exhibition Date: July 07–09, 2027

Exhibition Venue: Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), Pudong, Shanghai

Exhibition Overview

As the global transition toward net-zero enters a critical phase, ammonia energy is moving from pilot projects to large-scale, commercial and global deployment. With ammonia fuel commercialization accelerating in 2026, 2027 is set to become a pivotal year for industry-wide growth.

As China advances the implementation of its 15th Five-Year Plan, four government departments have, for the first time, incorporated renewable hydrogen, ammonia and methanol into minimum consumption targets, creating a dual-driven framework of mandatory demand-side consumption and localized responsibility for renewable energy utilization. As of Q1 2026, China’s annual production capacity for green hydrogen, green ammonia and green methanol had reached approximately 250,000 tonnes, 700,000 tonnes and 380,000 tonnes, respectively.

The first phase of the China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) Nengjian Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Park project has entered operation, with daily green ammonia output exceeding 500 tonnes. SPIC’s “HYGLOBAL–Da’an Green Ammonia” project completed the world’s largest single-batch green ammonia export and obtained the world’s first ISCC EU RFNBO Ammonia certification, marking a new stage in China’s green fuel industry—from domestic development to large-scale international commercial delivery.

Maritime decarbonization is also accelerating. The world’s first ammonia-fueled ocean-going vessel, ANTWERPEN, has entered commercial operation, while WinGD has secured orders for 40 ammonia dual-fuel engines. Fortescue has chartered 12 ammonia-fueled bulk carriers, to be built by Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding, with an estimated annual carbon reduction of approximately 250,000 tonnes.

As the 15th Five-Year Plan enters deeper implementation in 2027, investment in green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol production bases is expected to exceed RMB 2 trillion. Ammonia energy is emerging as one of the most promising and high-conviction growth sectors in the global energy transition.

New Opportunities

To seize the historic opportunities emerging from the global ammonia energy industry and break down barriers across the full value chain—from technology innovation and equipment deployment to application scenarios, standards development and cross-border trade—Golden Conference & Exhibition Group, together with leading industry organizations, will host the 1st Shanghai International Ammonia Energy Conference & Exhibition 2027 from July 7–9, 2027, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

Leveraging Shanghai’s strengths as an international shipping hub and a leading center for the zero-carbon economy, the expo will focus on “Ammonia Energy Technologies & Applications Across the Full Value Chain.” Covering a planned exhibition area of 24,000 m², the event will feature six dedicated zones spanning the entire industry chain: Production, Storage & Transportation, Power & Applications, Safety, Emerging Technologies, and Trade.

The expo will showcase the latest global advances in ammonia energy technologies and applications, bringing together industry leaders, research institutes, EPC contractors, shipowners, power and energy companies, international buyers and investors. It will provide comprehensive support for brand building, technology commercialization, market expansion and cross-border cooperation, with the goal of establishing the world’s leading exhibition for ammonia energy technologies and applications.
